Memorable Training Event in Matlock, Manitoba

Coast to Coast Training takes pride in its nationwide endeavor, traversing the Canadian landscape to equip employees with technical skills, exceptional customer service, and the art of creating outstanding customer experiences. During our recent training initiative, our dedicated team landed in Matlock, Manitoba.

Situated in proximity to Gimli and Winnipeg, the journey to Matlock commenced with a 1.5-hour drive from Winnipeg airport. Our Coast to Coast trainer fearlessly braved the frigid conditions to reach Matlock, where January temperatures plummeted to a bone-chilling -7 degrees Celsius during the day, and even colder at -14 degrees Celsius in the evening. While the cold was finger-numbing, the bright sunshine added a touch of warmth to the atmosphere.

Matlock’s allure lies in its popularity as a winter resort community, drawing tourists from across North America who eagerly partake in the thrilling activity of ice fishing, including ice derby competitions.

As the seasons change, Matlock transforms into a bustling hub, particularly during the summer months. Its captivating Matlock Beach, nestled on the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg in the village of Dunnottar becomes a magnet for a larger seasonal population of tourists. Located approximately 70 kilometers north of Winnipeg off Highway 9, Matlock Beach offers a picturesque setting that beckons visitors to bask in its beauty.

Our Coast to Coast trainer found solace and tranquility at the hospitable Lakeview Gimli Resort, offering stunning views of the lake. From the comfort of the resort, our trainer witnessed the captivating process of ice fishing, observing the construction of fishing huts on the frozen lake.

Nestled in Gimli, a mere 3-minute walk from the beach, Lakeview Gimli Resort provided our trainer with comfortable accommodations. The resort boasts a range of amenities, including a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center, and a restaurant. To further enhance the experience, the resort offers an indoor pool, sauna, and 24-hour front desk service.

Our trainer was delighted with the delectable meals served at the restaurant within Lakeview Gimli Resort. The food was not only flavorful but also accompanied by friendly and accommodating service, leaving a lasting impression.

While in Matlock, a visit to Matlock Village Junction Grocery Store is highly recommended. This local gem offers an impressive selection of fresh and tasty bakery items, as well as an array of fishing supplies, including fishing rods and much more.

Coast to Coast Training extends heartfelt gratitude to the warm and welcoming communities of Matlock and Gimli for embracing our presence. Our stay was truly remarkable, leaving us with fond memories and a deep appreciation for the hospitality we experienced.
